We will be exploring the many different ways we can charge your crystals. Just like humans, crystals need to be recharged to continue assisting us.
This concept was brought up briefly in my article, What No One Tells You About, How to Use Your Crystals. Today we will dive deep into all the various methods and expand upon which crystals may prefer specific methods. As well as other tips and tricks.
I will also go over and show you my preferred methods. And you will catch a glimpse of my crystal charging stations. Making your own charging station may be fun and relaxing for those that like making things with their own hands. It definitely comes in handy when you would like to charge your crystal.
In this article, you will find all the necessary information to keep your lovely crystals energized and ready to work for you!
Charging Your Crystals
There are many ways to charge your crystals. I will go over two straightforward tactics. Be mindful that some crystals prefer some methods over others. Crystals that favor specific charging methods will be mentioned in that methods section.
Charging your crystal is a significant maintenance piece that cannot be overlooked. Some methods require more of your particular time while others do not. You have the freedom to pick and choose which seems to be more in line with your needs.
The techniques below are not the only ways to charge your crystals. I just find these to be easier for beginners to learn and use.
Selenite
Due to their properties, these crystals are fantastic at charging other crystals. Using this method with the selenite bowl of this color is recommended. You would place your crystals within this bowl.
This is an exceptional technique to use when you are charging multiple stones.
Be mindful that these crystals need to be cleansed and charged. It does not contain unlimited energy. Keep it out of water.
White/clear selenite has superb cleansing properties. I know some sellers advertise it as having charging properties, but that is not true. In my article, 11 easiest crystals to obtain for meditation, I go in-depth about its properties.
Sunlight
This is a powerful method. On a nice sunny day, you can leave your crystal on a window sill, or a balcony/patio that gets direct sunlight or go outside with your crystals when possible.
I live in a highly shaded area with many trees, so I make time to go on a walk with my crystals exposed to sunlight.
Moonlight
This method is a little more lenient as it does not have to sit directly under the moon. Preferably, you want to do this on the night of a full moon. Do not worry about clouds in the sky, for it will not matter. It’s just something about the moon that changes everything around it through the night.
Place your crystals on the window sill or your patio/balcony, and let the magic occur.
Soil
This concept is an interesting one that I personally use. Soil is one of the most natural techniques, allowing your crystals to reconnect with the Earth. Bury your crystals in dirt or soil for about 24 hours.
There are multiple ways you can utilize this technique. If you have a garden, you can simply bury your crystals in the garden along with the pants. Well, what if you don’t have a garden? You can use a potted plant’s soil or just a bowl or jar of dirt. Tiger’s Eye, Jasper, Calcite, and Agate are the Crystals that favor this technique.
I use soil in my charging station. I have a wooden bowl that I bought from Marshals last year that I thought was very pretty. The soil was placed into the bowl with some selenite.
Dry Salt
Iodine-free salt is a fabulous way to recharge crystals. You just need salt in some container and place the crystal on top or press within the salt. Your crystals do not need to be fully covered. Leave your crystals to recharge for about 24 hours.
Dry is typically safe for all crystals. Avoid porous crystals, for the salt could get stuck inside the pores. This technique is excellent for crystals that are used in jewelry, just place your jewelry on top of the salt and let the magic flow.
I have a salt Zen Garden that also functions as a charging station. It also makes a beautiful piece of decoration when it is not in use! This was created by myself. Eventually, I will post a DIY for those that are interested.
Moon Water
Moon water is exactly as it sounds. Water that is charged by the moon! This technique is done by taking a jar of water. I tend to use distilled water and place it either outside or on your window sill on the night of the full moon. You can also do this on nights when the moon is almost full, known as Gibbous Moon.
The water holds the energy it absorbed from the moon. This is a fantastic technique when you want to charge your crystals with the moon, but your full moon is too far away. I try to keep moon water on hand for any occasion.
If you want to take it a step further, there are ways to harness specific energy from the moon. You must pay attention to when the full moon shows in the month. Specifically what zodiac sign it will be operating under. It is a fascinating subject to read about for those interested in zodiacs and their energies. For the sake of simplicity, I will not dive into this subject any further during this article.
Be careful to not put any water-soluble or delicate crystals into the water. Only hard crystals can be placed in water. For instance, some hard crystals are:
- Clear Quartz
- Rose Quartz
- Citrine
- Snow Quartz
- Amethyst
- Milky Quartz
- Agate
- Aventurine
- Smokey Quartz
- Jasper
- Tiger’s Eye
Sound
I’ve spoken briefly before about the impact sound can have on us. The higher frequencies have a healing and recharging factor that has been proven by science. If you want to read about that, check out my Sound & Music Meditation article.
Higher frequencies of sound can have an amazing effect on ourselves and the energies around us. Crystals can be charged through the use of these higher frequencies as well. Instruments such as a tuning fork or a singing bowl are wonderful for achieving this.
Sometimes I will go on YouTube and play videos of healing bowls like the one below. I use this one for my crystals and sometimes while I am meditating as well. For this to work, I use a quality Bluetooth speaker to ensure it displays the high frequencies needed.
Charge Your Crystals With Charging Stations
Personally, I do a combination of techniques. I have 3-different charging stations that suit my needs and make pieces that I find lovely to gaze upon. Sometimes I use them during my meditation.
Frequently, I opt to make multi-functional things. Options are endless when constructing your own charging station.
I love using charging stations to charge crystals. They are amazing for those who do not have a lot of free time to recharge their crystals. You simply place your crystal within the station and let it recharge naturally. Leave them on the stations for 24 hours.
Here are some examples that I personally made and used.
Soil Station
This soil crystal charging station is great for those who want something straightforward and cheap.
Any type of container to hold the soil will work. The container needs to be at least 3 inches deep. You want the soil to cover the crystal(s) that are being charged by 2 inches.
Soil works as a medium to charge your crystals. When you think about it, crystals come from the ground. They are formed under dirt and soil. So it makes since returning them to the soil will recharge them.
I created mine with a wooden container that I stained. My station is going to be used as a centerpiece as well. It also looks stunning, and I love the rustic simplicity.
You can make your very own station by using this tutorial here.
Peach Selenite Station
This is also easy as you just need the peach selenite to charge your crystals.
Selenite is excellent for charging crystals. Preferably you want to use peach selenite. Some use white selenite, which is best used to cleanse crystals rather than recharging them. Look for peach selenite.
A tutorial has been released on a gorgeous design using a peach selenite slab and copper wire. Check it out here! To receive updates on when new blog posts are added, sign up for Rita’s newsletter! You can sign up down below.
Sea Salt Zen Garden Station
This station is my favorite! Now, it does cost more than the 2 designs listed above, but the opportunity for creativity is endless!
Instead of using sand, use sea salt. As mentioned above, sea salt is excellent for charging crystals. Any type of sea salt can be used.
I use the Zen Garden for a focused and movement-based meditation while also using it to charge my crystals. Decorate your Zen Garden however you like. A tutorial for this station will also be released this month.
